When people try to sell a product, many people make the error of developing their course first, and then trying to find a market for it. The process should, of course, be reversed.

One should first find a market in which people are willing to spend money, find out what they want to spend money for, and of curse offer them your product at the end.

It is undeniably easier said than done, yet there are various places online where make market research for free. They have done most of the work for you already. You simply need to know where to go and what to do to connect all the dots.

Read on and I'll discover some websites I visit when I'm looking for ideas.

Google Zeitgeist- http://www.google.com/press/zeitgeist.html

To start off, I scan through hot search trends at Google Zeitgeist service. When I'm targeting the United States market, I'll select the "U.S. Zeitgeist" if not I will look at "Zeitgeist Around the World." At this point I am merely searching for ideas.

If I see that a particular topic is hot, I'll write it down and continue looking at much more targeted sub-niches afterwards at specialized websites (I will show them shortly).

Lycos Top 50

Other site similar to Google Zeitgeist is Lycos Top 50, where I will look for the latest trends and search for hot topics to explore further.

Yahoo! Buzz - http://buzz.yahoo.com

I'll also look at Yahoo! Buzz for ideas as well.

eHow -http://www.ehow.com

Ehow.com is an online community which provide its visitors, the ability to research, share, and speak about answers and tips for completing day-to-day tasks and projects. You can check out the Today's Top How To each the to see the most popular topics.

MyGoals.com - http://www.mygoals.com

Discover what are others' people goals - maybe you can help them.

eBay Pulse - http://pulse.ebay.com

Ebay Pulse is a great place to begin looking at sub-niches. What I'd do is select the category (use the topics gathered from previous sites) after that look for lucrative sub-niches by select a sub-category.
You'll have the most success if you are as specific as possible with the selection.

Be sure to also check the biggest stores as well to see what they're selling. There is a reason why they're the largest. They definitely know their business.

That's enough sites to get you hundreds of ideas. Best of luck!

Many people still make money in the used cars business.
Take a look at The Lazy way to buy and sell cars for profit review for more info.
